What are the boats like?
We use traditional Turkish-made Gulets for our sailing tours in all destinations. A traditional Turkish Gulet is a comfortable motorized cruising boat with 2- 3 sailing masts and sails. perfectly designed and used for thousands of years for traveling both long and shorter distances. Our boats are all designed to maximize lounging space on the deck in order to enjoy the beautiful views, bays, waters of the Turkish Mediterranean in comfort. All of our cabins are en-suite with a decent sized bathroom Our common areas on the Gulets are plentiful and huge. There is a lot of space on the different decks to relax, chat with your fellow travelers, play games, read your book, sunbathe, nap, or simply gaze out at the stunning views with a cocktail in hand
Is there free wifi on board?
Yes, All of our boats have free wifi that you can stay connected to the world and share your amazing photos from your sailing tours on social media
Is there a bar on our boat?
There sure is, all of our boats have a licensed bar on board. Prices are reasonable. We have a bar tab is run throughout the week for convenience, with payment of the tab due at the end of the tour. You will fix your tab at the end of the trip directly to the boat’s bar staff in cash. Since there is a licensed bar onboard BYO drink is not allowed to be brought on board with you
What power sockets are available on the boat?
All power sockets are European style everywhere in Turkey as well as our boats. We use European sockets (2 hole prongs), so you will need to bring an international conversion adapter to use your electronics.
How many hours a day will we be cruising?
Besides swim stops, we cruise roughly 3-4 hrs every day
Where will we dock ?
After a day of exploring the sights along the coast and several swim stops, most nights we anchor up in pristine bays for sunset swims and dinner under the stars.
Do I get seasick?
In general, the Turkish coastline is relatively calm. Most of the time it's like sailing on a large lake but rarely it may get a little rough. If you do usually get seasick we recommend bringing some seasickness tablets with you. There are also seasick pressure point wrist bands which are quite useful.
What if we get bad weather?
As we sail in the summer season, it's rare that we have bad weather. However, if the seas are too rough on any given day, our experienced captains carefully plan out an alternate route to avoid them. We may change up the itinerary to ensure the most pleasurable and safe experience on board by avoiding any bad weather.
How can I book my trip?
Once you’ve checked out our dates and availability page all you need to do now is filling our Enquiry form. When you submit your booking form. You will receive an email straight away from us which means your booking form is received by our team. Our reservation team will get back to you ASAP with our availability, fares, payment methods, and discounts we have on offer.
How do I lock in my spot on the tour?
After making contact with our reservation team, We’ll send you our banking details to pay your deposit. Once you have made the payment, we will confirm your payment by emailing you a "Confirmation Invoice" showing payment received. The final balance date and the amount will be shown if you paid only the deposit.
How do I pay for my tour?
Payment for your Go Turkey Sail tour can be made easily by credit card or bank transfer. For our banking details please check; https://www.goturkeysail.com/booking-and-payments Our final invoices are in Euro currency.
What payment options do you have available?
Deposit now, pay later: A Non-refundable deposit of €100 per person must be paid to secure your spot. Then you just need to pay the balance 60 days prior to your departure date. Failure to meet your payment deadlines may result in your booking being canceled. Pay in full: You can pay full fare at the time of booking.
What does a day onboard look like?
Our day always starts with a fresh continental breakfast being served from 8:00-09:00 am. Sometimes our boat starts cruising before breakfast but we always do have breakfast in a pristine bay. Swim stops are scheduled before and after lunch which is served around 1:00 pm each day. But remember we are generally in amazing bays so any stop is actually a swim stop. When we dock in the towns you have free time. Our crew will give you tips about the things to do in the towns. There can be an optional excursion organized for you which our crew will coordinate with you on the day. You then can meet back with our group for Dinner on board. which is usually around 7:30 pm, followed by some games on the boat and sometimes when we dock in the towns we love night outs to enjoy the local nightlife Every day you will be informed by our crew about the schedule of the day.
When do the tours start and finish?
Our tours start on Saturday afternoon. You can come to our office anytime before 03:00 pm. for a quick paperwork required for check-in and we will embark on our boat at 03:00 pm. We will check out on the following Saturday after breakfast at 9:30 am You can depart earlier if you have an early flight as we are in port already
What is the average age of passengers on tour?
Our passengers are generally in the early 20s to late 40s with an average of 45% solo travelers. No matter if you’re outside of that age range, as most of our travelers are cool young souls and are here for the same reason, to relax, unwind and enjoy local experiences with new friends.
Is this tour recommended for solo travelers?
Traveling solo is actually a great idea to book a group tour to meet new people and cultures and share amazing experiences with your future life long friends. Whether you want to get out and explore the amazing seaside towns or chill onboard with a sunset cocktail or go for a night out there’s always a great mix of people on board to share those experiences with.
As a solo traveler, who will I be sharing with?
Our prices are based on two people sharing a twin or double cabin, so if you’re traveling solo, you will be randomly paired with another same-sex traveler. If you would like to upgrade to a single cabin, It is available with a single supplement fee but Please contact us to check availability first.
How many passangers on the tour?
Our gullets in Turkey have 16 passengers capacity. So our group size is generally between 12-16 passengers per boat.
What is included in our sailing tour?

What is not included in the price?
All drinks are sold on board at reasonable prices. Please do not bring your own drinks on board. Archaeological sites and national parks entrance fees. Tips for the Crew
Are there optional excursions on offer?
Yes, there are some amazing optional excursions on offer. Paragliding over Blue Lagoon and Scuba diving at Kaş are the most popular extra activities. The costs for those excursions are not included in your tour cost & are payable to the crew onboard during the tour. When you make your booking, you will get a list of the optional excursions that you can also pre-book online with us due to those activities are so popular and likely to sell out If you have further travel plans when in Turkey, let us know and we'll do our best to give you the best deals and ensure you get the chance to tick it off your bucket list.
Do you cater for special dietary requirements onboard?
We have an exclusive chef on board with us that we make sure you will have the best meals on your tour. We can cater to special dietary requirements. Just let us know of your dietary requirement on day 1 when checking in. Some of the products that you may find in your countries would not be available in Turkey. If you have a very specific requirements and want to make sure, then please check with us before the tour.
How much should I budget for the tour?
As all meals are included on our tour, you won’t spend any for food unless you may crave some snacks when you are walking around in the Towns. Make sure you always have 1 or 2 euros for famous Turkish ice-cream. When we go out and enjoy the nightlife of those local towns you may need some cash with you. Drinks are generally cheap in Turkey. Beers generally 2-3 euros, nice cocktails are about 5-7 euros. There is also a bar onboard the boat that allowing you to enjoy reasonably priced drinks all along the week. A bar tab is run on the boat for the week and you pay in cash at the end. you can keep track as you go. As a rough idea for your bar tab on board, €100 Euro for the week would get you a beer/wine at lunch and dinner, some drinks in the afternoon on the sun deck and then pre-drinks before night outs, for the 7 days while on the boat. If you choose to do any optional excursions that offered you will need to budget for these. To do everything, they cost roughly 150-180 € per person. These prices are just a rough guide as excursion prices change from season to season. Tipping: Tipping is customary in Turkey but still, it’s entirely up to you if you decide to give extra to the crew. It is very much appreciated. You will see how hard our crew works to ensure you have an amazing week on our tours. Tipping is a good way to show your gratitude to our crew at the end of the tour. The amount you tip is totally your own decision, however, we recommend 10 Euro per crew member on a 4 days tour and 15 Euro per crew member on a 7 nights tour.
What should I pack?
You should pack light for a week-long tour on the seas. The weather during the summer is on average 28-35 C (83-95 F), so you definitely don’t need jeans or a sweater to keep you warm. The dress code for the nightlife in Turkey is very relaxed. A casual Summer outfit is acceptable at the bars and clubs. You will need sunscreen, swimwear, beach towels, and hats. The sun can be very strong especially in July and august Our gulets have quite a few inflatables and snorkeling gears share but it is always more hygienic to bring yours.
Do I need travel Insurance?
We strongly advise that you purchase comprehensive travel insurance before your trip starts. Our team will get the details about your travel insurance while check-in.
What currency do they use in Turkey?
Turkey’s official currency is the Turkish Lira (TRY) however, in most tourist destinations Euro and USD are widely accepted at a rate stated by the shop owner, usually with the change given in Turkish Lira. Currency exchange can be found at the airport and at the main port in Fethiye. Exchange rates are always better in the town. Alternatively, ATM machines are available throughout Turkey to use your own Cash Card. It is always handy to have Turkish lira with you to get better deals in shopping places.
Do I need visa to come to Turkey?
you can obtain your visa after filling in the necessary information concerning your identity, passport, and travel dates and pay the visa fee online. Tourist visas are for 90 days and vary in cost. Some countries' passports do not require a Visa and can enter for free. Check it online if you need a visa. You can also obtain a Visa at the airport, however, the cost is generally higher. Go Turkey Sail does not take any responsibility or have any obligation to assist with you obtaining your Visa.
Is it safe to drink tap water in Turkey?
Tap water in Turkey is generally considered safe to drink, but as a precaution against stomach upsets, we always recommend drinking bottled water, which is available from shops, hotels, and restaurants throughout Turkey.
What language do they speak in Turkey?
In Turkey the locals speak Turkish, however, the tourism industry is expanding in the last couple of decades, English is widely spoken in the tourist destinations, especially by the young Turks. Some basic Turkish phrases can be very useful for breaking the ice and always gaining an extra smile from the locals :)
How is the tipping culture in Turkey?
Tipping is expected in Turkey and leaving a 10% tip on your bill in a restaurant is generally an acceptable amount. Tour guides and crew should also be tipped around 10 Euro per crew member, per day.
What do things cost in Turkey?
Although Turkey is a popular tourist destination, major cities and ports have remained pretty cheap for the average traveler. Snacks from street vendors can normally be purchased for just a few Euros while a meal in a restaurant with a drink won’t cost much more than 10 Euros. Taxis have a base fare of 1 Euro and then cost one extra dollar per kilometer.
How do I get from dalaman airport to the port?
Private Airport Transfer: we can organize private transfers to/from Dalaman Airport with a modern air-conditioned van. It requires pre-booking. The price for a private transfer for 1-4 guests will be 35€ total for the transfer. Price is charged per vehicle. (apx.45 minutes) Dalaman Airport Taxi: Official yellow taxis operate to/from International Dalaman airport. The taxi rank is located just outside the arrival lounges. Taxi fares are fixed and posted on a board by the taxi rank. Please check the board before you get on the taxi (approx. 220 TL) (apx. 45 minutes) Dalaman Airport Shuttle Buses: There are 2 Shuttle bus companies (HAVAŞ and MUTTAŞ) operating shuttles. The Bus station is located just outside of arrival lounge at the airport. The ticket price is 20 Turkish Lira, however, it may be increased up to 25 Lira in high season. Please check the Schedule of shuttle buses on their websites (HAVAŞ and MUTTAŞ). When you take one of these shuttles, the final stop is Fethiye bus terminal. From there you are can make your way to the Office located in the marina either a short taxi ride (apx.20 Turkish Lira) or by catching a public minibus to the marina (apx.5 Lira)
